Foundation chain
To work a foundation chain, start by making a slip knot. · Then chain as many stitches you need
Row 1:
skip 2 chain, make half double crochet (hdc) across the row
Row 2:
Turn the work
Chain 2, skip 1, make (1 half double crochet (hdc), 1 chain, 1 slip stitch), skip 1, make (1 half double crochet, 1 chain, 1 slip stitch), …, 1 half double crochet in the last stitch
Row 3: Turn the work and repeat row 2.
