In this article, I will show you how to crochet the Herringbone single crochet stitch
Very easy for beginners, it’s a 2 row repeat and uses only single crochet, so you can easily use this stitch to create a wide variety of patterns!
Abbreviations:
Ch=chain
Sc= single crochet
hsc= Herringbone Single Crochet
In this tutorial, I used 4.50 mm hook size,
The Herringbone Single Crochet Stitch, can be worked in rows or in the round, This stitch only has one right side.
Foundation: Any number of stitches + one
Row 1:
Work into the back bumps of the foundation chain, Single Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook, Herringbone Single Crochet (HSC) in each ch until end, turn the work. (Right Side Facing)
Row 2:
Chain 1, Single Crochet in first stitch, Herringbone Single Crochet (HSC) in each stitch until end, turn the work. (Wrong Side Facing)
Row 3:
Chain 1, Single Crochet in first stitch, Herringbone Single Crochet (HSC) in each ch until end, turn the work. (Right Side Facing)
Repeat ROWS 2 AND 3.
