I’m using 4.5 mm hook size / magic ring
Round 1: In the magic ring, make 8 single crochet, close with slip stitch.
Round 2: Chain 3 (counts as double crochet), 1 double crochet, *ch 1, 2 dc into the next st*
Repeat from * to * across, join with slst
Round 3: In the chain 1 space from the Previous round, make *2 double crochets, chain 2, 2 double crochets*
Repeat from * to * across, close with slip stitch.
Round 4: work a block of 7 dc in every chain 2 space around, close with slip stitch.
Round 5: Change color, work sc in every double crochet around, with spike single crochet between the shells of the 3rd round. (For the spike single crochet ), insert your hook into the little space between the shells of round 3, pull up a loop to the height of your current working round, yarn over and pull through the two loops on your hook.
Spike single crochet = long single crochet

Then work single crochet into the next 4 single crochets, 1 half double crochet into the next single crochet, double crochet into the next 2 single crochets, (1 tr crochet, chain 3, 1 tr crochet) into the next spike single crochet, double crochet into the next two single crochet, 1 half double crochet into the next sc, single crochet into the next 4 single crochets* , and repeat around.
